UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY - A WEEK AT THE FASCINATING CHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTE
July 27 - August 2, 2008
Week 6 Topic:  Healing the Globe
Donated by:  The Rizzolo Family

In this Global Village, the health of one affects the health of all. In partnership with the Global Health Council, we will examine such twenty-first century challenges as maternal and child health, AIDS, TB, malaria, diseases related to global warming, the consequences of natural disasters, and response mechanisms to famine and pandemics. We will bring to the platform powerful voices who have invested themselves and their resources in this struggle for a healthy world.

A lovely and comfortable, fully furnished one bedroom condominium only 2 blocks away from the center of Chautauqua Institute's Bestor Plaza. An easy walk to the Chautauqua Visual Arts Center, the quaint movie theater, the Opera House, Bratton Theater, and the Amphitheater...the condo is also easily accessible to the lakefront, tennis courts, a golf course, the library, and among the most well stocked bookstores we have ever seen! Chautauqua Institute is mostly a walking community with few vehicles allowed inside the gates of the Institute.  Our Chautauqua home is on the third floor of an older building and is not wheelchair accessible.

For those who are walking weary, all activities are easily accessible by the complimentary shuttle buses traversing the grounds 24 hours each day, 7 days a week.

We are offering our "Home away from home" for week 6 of the Chautauqua season. The theme of the week is "Healing The Globe." This means that each morning there will be an amphitheater lecture by prominent speakers on this subject. Additionally, each afternoon at 2 pm there will be a Dept of Religions lecture following the same theme. The evening air at Chautauqua is filled with symphony, ballet, and concerts in the amphitheater.  Additional courses are also available for you to enjoy while you are there. These courses often include Tai Chi, weaving, the politics of a certain era...and many others.

In a nutshell, Chautauqua is a lovely place to refresh and renew. Filled with spirituality, music and art, and intellectual endeavors, this outdoor haven has something for everyone.

Terms of the purchase:
Additional fees: Our donation is strictly for the use of our home. It does not include the gate fees or other costs which you might incur while at the Institute. In order to gain access to the Institute, one must purchase a gate pass either on line or by calling the Institute directly at 1.800.836.ARTS.  Please be aware that all amphitheater events are included with your gate pass and so it is not necessary to purchase additional tickets for any amphitheater events.  Parking is across the street in the Main Lot and can be purchased for a nominal fee along with the gate pass.
