Water

WATER

  • We have been working to install low-flush toilets in all of our buildings with plumbing (Main,
  • Shalom, Seascape).  To date we have installed over 35 low flush toilets and plan to install more until we've changed all of our older toilets.  We chose the Kohler Cimmaron Comfort Height toilet with Class Five flushing technology - using 1.6 gallons per flush!  According to Kohler, a household using this model should conserve 2,000 gallons in a year.  Our new toilets also meet ADA requirements and are easier to use.
  • We have a lot of stormwater runoff.  We are looking into capturing some of this rainwater to use for our grounds.  Currently we do very minimal water of our grounds.  We only water new plantings, potted plants, crops in our heirloom vegetable garden and the cook's herb garden.
