Organic Colors, Flowers and Forms
On Display until April 8, 2022 in the Mary C. Daly RSM Art Gallery at Mercy by the Sea
You are invited to meet the artists and view their work at a reception on Saturday, March 26 from 3-5 p.m. All welcome! (Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required).
Organic Colors, Flowers and Forms is a collection of paintings created by local artists, Lisa Arnold and Karen Siegel. It is on view until April 6. Viewings are initially by appointment only and can be arranged by emailing Sister Ann McGovern. A reception with the artists will hopefully take place in late March if the trajectory of COVID-19 infections continues downward. Stay tuned!
Lisa and Karen are colleagues and friends who have been art instructors at the Silvermine School of Art in Connecticut. Aside from being working and exhibiting artists, they feel that their work complements one another for a gallery show. Lisa Arnold's work reflects a true love of watercolors. She has pushed and developed her own version of whimsical flower watercolors after studying flower botanical art and is intrigued with the interplay of washes as well as bright pigment. Lisa can be contacted here. Karen Siegel's work consists of organic and colorful abstract forms. Her pieces are reflective with a mystical yet playful quality to them. She works in acrylics to create a flowing interplay between rhythm and sound and color. View more of Karen’s work on her website or contact her here.
