Front Desk Receptionist
Definition of Position
The Front desk Receptionist is responsible for providing support to guests and visitors at Mercy by the Sea Retreat and Conference Center. The position is part-time, 16 hours a week, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday and an occasional Sunday.
Organization Structure
The Front Desk Receptionist is accountable to the Director of Mission Integration, Hospitality and Volunteers.
Qualifications
High School/ 2 year college degree, with hospitality and general business experience, basic knowledge of computer skills, and the ability to multitask and work under pressure. Effective oral communications skills a must. Excellent ability to work with people and extend hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the creation of a welcoming, compassionate, and caring environment for
all colleagues and guests of Mercy by the Sea. - Answers busy phones, take messages concerning availability of programs, services and retreat registrations.
- Assists guests in locating rooms and navigating facility and grounds.
- Available to answer questions about programs, services, facility and property.
- Takes credit card information by phone for payments of programs, retreats, etc.
- Conducts tours of buildings and grounds.
- Assists with administrative work as needed.
- Acts as liaison between guests and housekeeping and maintenance.
- Other duties as needed.
