Mindfulness

“The purpose of mindfulness is to wake us up.
It’s designed to reconnect us with our intrinsic ingenuity
and our indestructible, innate excellence.”Marina Illich, Ph.D., author and leadership consultant

Mindfulness, a practice to reduce stress and allow us to live fully in the present, can engender clarity of mind, focus and the non-judgmental observation of experience as it unfolds in each moment. Stress reduction, a sense of calm and peace, and increased compassion for self and others are just some of the other benefits of mindfulness meditation. Mercy by the Sea offers regular Days of Mindfulness as well as extended mindfulness retreats.

In 2018, Jerry Silbert, M.D., will lead Days of Mindfulness on April 7, May 19, June 23, July 21, August 25, October 27 and December 1. For a list of upcoming contemplative programs, please check the Contemplative Practices page.
