About this offering

Learn to tell your story. The one yearning to be told. Learn to tell it authentically, with clarity and emotional engagement. This introductory workshop will guide you in prparing to release your story. Often our essential story is stifled by fear of hurting others or of not being heard. The story begging to be heard for healing, inspiring, building a bridge of understanding.

About the presenter

Denise Keyes Page is the founder of Ubuntu Storytellers I.D.E.A.L. They are artists of black and brown ancestry who tell stories to heal, challenge, inspire, inform and connect. With her ensemble or as a featured solo artist, Denise has performed locally and nationally for story productions with "Better Said Than Done,” “Songs and Stories,” “Story Space” the National Storytelling Network Conference, International Festival of Arts and Ideas, The Women’s Storytelling Festival, and more. Ubuntu Storytellers also performed on WPAA television for which they were named a finalist for an Alliance in 
Community Media Award.

Denise’s workshops are interactive, practical and fun. She brings her passion and expertise from her career as a caring Social Justice facilitator. She invites you to bring stories you are working on or are contemplating. In addition to curating and producing performances of Ubuntu Storytellers, Denise also produces the series of shows, “Women Tell by the Decades.”

Dedicated to preserving and advancing the art and scope of oral storytelling, Denise serves as a Board member of Northeast Storytellers (NEST); as well as Board President of the Connecticut Storytelling Center. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Mercy by the Sea.
