Spring Sabbatical 2024
For Women Religious
March 17 – May 5, 2024
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Anaïs Nin
We at Mercy by the Sea are delighted to announce a Spring Sabbatical program in 2024 for women religious. This is a time for rest, prayer and reflection, solitude, and community with sisters from various geographies. Trusting that God is at work in our lives and is as close to us as our hearts, this sabbatical will be self-directed with guidance from a staff mentor. In this welcoming atmosphere of simplicity and beauty, we will extend to you a hospitality and spaciousness that nurtures relationship with the Sacred in self, others, and creation.
Spring Sabbatical is limited to 10 women religious who will enjoy sweeping views of Long Island Sound from rooms in the main house and Seascape, a separate but elegant house on the grounds of Mercy by the Sea. Registration will open September 1, 2023 and will close January 31, 2024. Please find the application here. The cost to attend sabbatical is $9,000.
If you are longing for “the something more,” are exhausted from the demands of ministry, or are looking to refocus life and refresh your relationship with God, we invite you to join us for this sacred time of rest, renewal, and reflection. For more information, please contact Eileen Dooling, RSM at email@example.com or Maureen Mitchell, RSM at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Past Sabbatical participants have said...
“It was a deeply personal and profound experience with special women.”
“I knew from day one that I made the right decision.”
"The sabbatical was transformative for me. I have only gratitude.”
Cancellation and Refund Policy
- A non-refundable deposit of $300 is required with the application to hold a place in the program and will be applied to the total cost of the program. The balance of the sabbatical cost is due 30 days before the start of the Sabbatical program.
- A cancellation made within 30 days of the start of the Sabbatical program will result in a 50% refund of the payment made, minus the deposit. No refund can be given for a late arrival or early departure from the sabbatical. A full refund would be given in the unlikely event that MBTS would need to cancel the program. Any payments made cannot be held by MBTS as “credit on account” toward a future date.
