Who are we?
We believe in the spiritual, sacred nature of the individual and see this spirituality in all living things. We are facilitators providing mind, body, spirit programming and events on 33 waterfront acres so visitors re-connect with the Sacred in themselves and one another.
Our Vision: To nurture a relationship with the Sacred in self, others and creation that seeks to foster a just and compassionate world. We do this through our programs, events and collective intentions.
How does our vision manifest?
The profound spiritual and personal transformations experienced at Mercy Center are carried by each attendee into each aspect of their lives: the people they meet, decisions they make, partners they choose, issues they champion, jobs they seek, and ways they express themselves. These inner shifts are to be shared with the world today. If each person who has come to Mercy Center affects even just 100 others, then our impact is truly lasting and our vision of a more just and compassionate world will be realized.
This is how Sisters of Mercy Foundress Catherine McAuley's inspiration to serve lives on and Mercy Center at Madison remains vital and relevant to people of all faiths.
Come to Mercy Center. Discover peace . . . discover harmony . . . discover wisdom . . . discover time. Discover life in its fullest.
A rich tradition exists in its evolution from the Hotchkiss "Stonycroft" estate to W.T. Grant's summer mansion to the Mercy Center at Madison today. The Grant mansion, still in use, grew to 116 interconnecting rooms when acquired by the Sisters of Mercy of Connecticut over 50 years ago. The beauty and tranquility of this place provides a setting conducive to reflection and purposeful learning.
Mercy Center at Madison is blessed with 33 acres of breath-taking, ocean front property resplendent with shrubs, flowers and other plantings. From Mercy Center's beautiful, private beach to our outdoor gardens to our Seaside Meditation Room and Chapel, you will feel welcomed, safe and peaceful here.
