Directed Retreats

Directed Retreats at Mercy by the Sea provide an opportunity to withdraw from the busyness of life, and enter more deeply into relationship with God. You'll find opportunities for solitude, silence, and prayer, and a daily meeting with a trained spiritual director. A peaceful atmosphere of silence is maintained for the duration of the retreat.

We hope that you'll consider spending your precious retreat time with us.

 

How to Register

In order to avoid overloading our registration system, we will once again be progressively opening the 2025 retreats on January 21, 22, 23 and 24. You can find a full List of Retreats/Retreat Directors and Their Opening Dates at the bottom of this web page. Once a retreat has opened for registration, it will remain open until it is filled, and a waiting list will be generated. No reservations can be accepted before the scheduled opening date.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Register

  • Have your credit card available to process your payment. (You will be able to reserve your spot with a deposit of $250, or to pay the balance in full.)
  • Click on the "Register Here" button above.
  • You will see a list of the available 2025 retreat offerings. Choose a retreat date with your chosen retreat director.
  • When you've arrived at your desired selection, click on the directors name and follow the instructions. (If the retreat director is full, a waitlist form will appear. Fill in your name and contact info to be added to the waitlist.)

Retreat registration will begin only for the February 2-6, 2025 Directed Retreat on Friday, 1/10/2025 at 9:30 a.m. No other retreat registrations can be accepted at this time. 

If possible, please use the Online Registration.  Be aware, we have limited staff available to process phone calls between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Online registration will be available 24 hours per day. 

If you are unable to register online, please call (203) 245-0401 where staff will assist you. Or send us an email at registrations@mercybythesea.org. These requests will be processed after all the online registrations are fully processed.

The Mercy For All Scholarship Fund

Thanks to contributions from generous donors and the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, The Mercy For All Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance for those who cannot afford the full fee to attend Mercy by the Sea offerings.

Cancellation and Refund Policy for Mercy by the Sea

  • A cancellation made up to 14 days before the start of the retreat will result in a full refund minus the deposit.
  • The payment balance is due 14 days before a retreat.
  • A cancellation made less than 14 days before the start of the retreat will result in a 50% refund of the total amount that has been received. A full refund would be given in the unlikely event that MBTS would need to cancel the program. Any payments made cannot be held by MBTS as "credit on account" toward a future date.
