Meeting Services

Mercy by the Sea, a retreat and conference center on Long Island Sound, has a long tradition of welcoming church and professional groups, civic organizations and businesses. Two principle buildings—Main Building and Seascape—have both meetings rooms as well as overnight guest rooms and are available for single- or multiple-day rentals.

In 2010 and 2011, Mercy by the Sea underwent extensive renovations to the main building. George Fellner, photographer and architect, designed the renovations, which included among other things:

  • Improved accessibility
  • Improved energy efficiency
  • New amenities.

He also introduced a neighborhood concept, which located guest rooms near meeting rooms for convenience and to physically support connection and engagement. The Founder’s Auditorium is a good example of execution of that idea.

Hospitality, a charism of the Sisters of Mercy, is one of the service pillars of the Center, with staff and volunteers committed to making individuals and groups feel comfortable and welcomed.

Additionally, guests often remark on the delicious healthy meals served in our dining room.
