A Christmas Eve Prayer

Posted on

As this night closes in
Help me, God, to realize that
You are as close to me as the silence and the dark
That surrounds me.

Let me wake on Christmas morning
To a realization
That my world is truly a holy place and that all of your creation is sacred
For you have made it so.
Let me recognize you incarnate in every person I meet, and in the ups and downs of my everyday.

May my life be a warm and welcoming light in the cold stable of this world.
May I hold others carefully in my heart, cherishing friendship and love.
And please bless those with whom I am not at peace.

Venite Adoremus.
Venite Adoremus.
Come, let us adore.

You are here.

Amen.

Christmas Eve,
